2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vs. 2021 Lexus RX: More Than Just Utility
02/16/2021
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the sports car of the segment. It delivers optimal driving dynamics engineered from decades of victories and accomplishments by Alfa Romeo in motorsports. While its engines and chassis components are derived from racing technology, its cabin is comfortable, stylish and versatile so drivers can take the Stelvio anywhere.
The Stelvio is offered in four streamlined trims: Sprint, Ti, Ti Sport and Quadrifoglio. The lineup is filled with new standard equipment, new exterior colours and new technology - along with the signature Alfa Romeo style.
Here, we compare it to the 2021 Lexus RX.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio has more bite
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio offers an all-aluminum 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine in its Sprint, Ti and Ti Sport variants. This engine's technically advanced internals and turbocharging system enable it to deliver 306 lb-ft of torque for exhilarating accelerations. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio variant is powered by a Ferrari-derived 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that outputs 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque.
None of the RX's engines come close to the Stelvio's powerplant in terms of torque. And the Quadrifoglio's powerplant is way ahead in terms of both power and torque.
This last engine enables the Stelvio Quadrifoglio to go from 0 to 97 km/h in only 3.6 seconds, which is much quicker than the RX.
The Stelvio features Alfa Romeo's own Q4 all-wheel drive system, along with a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution, a class-exclusive carbon-fibre driveshaft and the Alfa DNA Drive Mode selector (DNA Pro with Race mode in the Stelvio). Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with available steering column-mounted aluminum paddle shifters that can shift gears in less than 100 milliseconds.
The Stelvio perfectly blends passion and utility
All these impressive technical specifications translate into a driving experience that no other SUV can provide - including the RX. And this passionate experience is also expressed in the Stelvio's styling possibilities. With a wider variety of exterior colours, bold exterior appearance packages and exclusive interior features like a Formula One-inspired, flat bottom steering wheel, the Stelvio brings character and inspiration to your day-to-day driving and your spirited escapades with the family.
In the end, driving a Stelvio is like driving a fine Italian sports car. You can contact us or come in for a test drive of the Stelvio.
